Provenance for luxury brands & makers

Box and papers are getting an upgrade. A digital identity built into the product proves authenticity for life and keeps the brand connected through every owner.

The problem

Step by step

  1. 01

    Assign an identity at manufacture

Give each serialised product a unique identity, ideally using a GS1 Digital Link-compatible URL.

  2. 02

    Embed the right carrier

Hide a secure NFC chip in the lining, case back or packaging, and print a QR code where customers can find it.

  3. 03

    Activate at first sale

Register the first owner and start warranty and aftercare from the same record.

  4. 04

    Enable verified resale

Let owners transfer the record when they sell, so buyers can check authenticity before paying.

  5. 05

    Layer in compliance data

Add materials, origin and repair information required for Digital Product Passports as rules come into force.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do customers need an app to scan?+

No. Modern phones read QR codes with the camera and NFC tags natively, opening a web page without any app.

When will Digital Product Passports be required?+

The EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation entered into force in 2024, and passport requirements are being introduced category by category through delegated acts over the following years. Check the timeline for your product category.

Can one tag serve both authentication and marketing?+

Yes. The same identity can show authenticity, care guidance, offers and compliance data, with different information for the public, the owner and the brand.
